David is a Paris-based filmmaker and producer crafting original and emotionally engaging films.
His relationship with cinematography started at a young age through his passion for skateboarding. Exploring the world as a professional skateboarder & videographer for over a decade in the late 90s and 2000's and achieving a major in film editing at "Les Arts Filmiques" helped him forge his technique and acuity for storytelling.
Nurtured, as a run-and-gun filmmaker, by the inner-city skateboarding life and cultural activism, he developed a distinct sense of composition, motion, and rythm. Expanding his craft using all kinds of analog and digital processes, from Super8 film to modern-day heavy duty digital cinema cameras, he reached a versatility that allows him to define the aesthetic of his subjects in the most accurate way.
Today, David navigates between directing, cinematography & editing, keeping the narrative at the center of each project.
With 25+ years of experience as a filmmaker and editor on several award-winning documentaries, he founded CIVILIANS, an independent production company developing music videos, brand content, documentaries and fiction.
